Global Leaders and Educators....

Greetings,
My name is Jonathan A.G. Dumas and I’m a graduate student in the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education at The Pennsylvania State University. I was born and reared in Miami, FL, and am an alumnus of the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.
Great Wall of China (Summer 2011)
With our trip to Seoul, South Korea only being weeks away, I am extremely anxious and excited to see what the country has to offer. We’ve written and received instruction and lessons on Korean history, traditional dress, religion, food, education and agriculture to say the least. I am sure that my peers and I are looking forward to put what we have learned to practical use.
There are many things I look forward to seeing and doing while Seoul, South Korea. However, what I look forward to the most is interacting with Korean citizens and seeing them in their element. How are Korean and Americans different? How are we alike? I am interested in learning about their classroom instruction practices and techniques. I am curious to find out what technological advancements their classrooms have made and how educators are incorporating social media into their courses.
I am going to Seoul, South Korea with an open mind and the sole intent to learn. I want to grow personal, educationally and most importantly, I want to increase my overall awareness as a global citizen.
Please follow our blog as myself, twenty other students and two instructors make our way to Seoul, South Korea. This is an educational experience you don’t want to miss out on and I am sure we’ll have more than enough information to share, and keep your eyes glued to the computer screen.
Until I post again,

Jonathan
