Welcome to Seoul!!!

After what felt like forever for the majority of our crew, except for me because I slept through the entirety of our traveling venture, we finally arrived in Seoul, South Korea! Luckily, we passed through customs and managed to escape the airport with NO missing luggage, which was a first for me. Our next item of business was to load up on a bus headed for Seoul! After about a 1 hour bus ride, all of which I missed yet again due to my narcoleptic tendencies, we arrived at the Hoam Faculty Hotel!

Seoul is a beautiful & colorful city. I couldn't help but notice the hundreds of storefronts and little shops one right next to the other cascading down the hillside streets of Seoul.  Each storefront has bright signage and Korean symbols which made them somewhat of a mystery to me. However, there were very recognizable venues such as Outback Steakhouse, Papa Johns, and good old Dunkin Donuts.

And lets talks about food... We had an amazing dinner at the hotel restaurant.  I ordered a vegetable and rice meal that came in five bowls and was the most colorful plate I'd ever eaten. I still have no idea what everything was that was in my bowl, but it was delicious. I fumbled my way through most of my meal with chopsticks until I gave up my pride and used my spoon to finish up. As expected, it was spicy but delicious none the less.

P.S. Observation-Korean amenities are highly technologically advanced compared to the standard American amenities we are used to.  It took two people 10 minutes and a lot of experimentation to uncover how to flush the toilet...Do you see how this could be confusing?

  1. I want to hear more about the toilet options! Did it have a blow dryer? Those are the best!
