Yes, I have a blister...It hurts, but it was so worth it. We toured the Seoul National University (SNU) and learned about some of the history of Korea and the university. We learned that the university was relocated in the '70's because the students of SNU were protesting the dictator of South Korea. The dictator at the time had the campus relocated to a place were there are only two entrances and exits. The dictator did this to repress the students that protested the government.
After that we met with our pen pals and worked on our lesson plan to teach to high school agriculture students. To top off our great day we had a wonderful diner at a local Korean restaurant where we ate traditional Korean BBQ. The bar-bee- que is different in that you cook it over hot cools and then dip it into the sides or make a rap out of it with lettuces or aspen leaves. Some of the group tried Soju which is a Korean alcohol which nearly everyone of our guest speakers in the 10 class sessions prior to traveling had told us to try. I am happy that I tried it for the experience, but I thought it tasted like rubbing alcohol, so it will probably be my first and last time to try!.
So my blister was definitely worth it and I am looking forward to another wonderful day of exploring tomorrow.
